About The MuseumThe National Dinosaur Museum is situated in Australia's capital of Canberra, and is one of the premiere tourist attractions in the area. Starting from humble beginnings in 1993, the museum has grown from just a small collection to housing the largest permanent display of dinosaur and other prehistoric fossil material in Australia. With 23 Complete skeletons, and over 300 displays of individual fossils, the museum continues to grow and expand both our collection, and our depth of information. The museum also attracts a large number of people every year, educating both school children and the general public about dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals. Focusing on both education and entertainment, the museum offers a wide variety of activities to both schools and the general public. From guided tours of the museum, to puppet shows, to birthday parties for the kids, there's sure to be something to suit the needs of just about anyone. The museum's exhibits take you on a journey through time, from it's very beginnings to some of the most recent animals. Through this you can follow the evolution of life, and see just how successful the dinosaurs were. Two publications are also made in house at the museum. These are the Dinosaur Age newsletter, and the eDinosauria. The Age is a quarterly newsletter that highlights some of the latest finds in palaeontology, and sheds insight into prehistoric animals. The eDinosauria is a comprehensive encyclopaedia about all things prehistoric. With the ability to search by time period, continent, or family tree, it's easy to find just what you're looking for. The museum also offers memberships to those who wish to visit more often. With free entry for a whole year, discounts in the shop and on birthday parties, free subscription to our very own Dinosaur Age newsletter, and a complimentary copy of the eDinosauria, the savings are astounding. Becoming a member is easy, just come on down to the museum and sign a simple form to get discounts on entry, in the shop, and on birthday parties. With family membership for a whole year costing only $50, what are you waiting for?
